This deeply soothing massage is specifically designed for the special needs of expectant mothers. It is designed to improve circulation, reduce swelling in the feet and hands and release tension in the lower back, neck and shoulders. We use exclusively the "Mama Mio" line of products which are always chock full of those amazing essential Omega Fatty Acids. Every Mama Mio product is safe to use at any time from pregnancy stage to pensionable age. They are Paraben Free, Petrolatum Free, Sodium Laureth and Sodium Laurel Sulphate Free, Xenoestrogen and Phtalates Free, Colorant and Synthetic Fragrance Free. Quite simply, if it's a nasty, it 's a no-no.

What is a Doula?
The concept of a Doula is not new. Personal support by a close friend or relative through labor is a tradition that goes back many years in all cultures. Some women do not live in close-knit communities where their sisters, mothers, aunts, and friends are there to support them through pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, these events can be scary and can make a woman feel lost if she has to experience them alone. A Doula helps fill this gap by providing support to the woman and her partner or support system throughout the entire birthing process. A Doula does not replace the support system; instead, they help support them so that they can focus on loving and encouraging the laboring woman. Doula's can serve as a source of information during pregnancy, labor and birth. A Doula assists families in gathering information about their pregnancy, labor and the options available for delivery. Their goal is to provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before and during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. The intent of a Doula is to help the woman have a safe and satisfying experience, as the woman defines it. A well trained Doula understands and works within the Doula's scope of practice and should not interfere with any medical aspect of labor and birth.

On-call from 38 weeks, 24/7 up until the birth.
Answer questions by phone or email.
Maintain a back up Doula on-call for the birth in case of an emergency.
When labor starts the Doula will stay with the mother throughout labor, encouraging the mother, helping her with positions, massage and comfort measures.
A postpartum visit to help process the birth experience, follow up on breastfeeding issues, and provide a list of resources in the area and a postpartum massage to help ease away the new mothers stress.

This beautiful keepsake of the silhouette of the pregnant woman can be custom cast either in the privacy of your own home or at our Spa location. Normal completed cast delivery time is 2 weeks depending on type of cast ordered. A 5 day turn around rush service is available for a $100.00 upcharge. (rush jobs available for cast and base paint only, no artwork) Please call for an appointment.

Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable.
